Tell us a little about your little ones!
I’m mama to a sweet little toddler named Emiliana—we call her Emmi for short. She’s two years old and so full of energy, curiosity and creativity. We live in upstate New York, so after one of the longest winters I can remember, she constantly wants to be outside, and I can’t blame her! We have so much fun exploring local parks, playgrounds and the zoo, and we love going to the farmer’s market as a family every weekend. When we’re not out and about, Emmi loves doing art projects—an afternoon filled with crayons, markers, stickers and maybe some paint (if we’re feeling adventurous) is always a great one.
When you’re not being super mom, what are you up to?
I love all things art and design, so when I’m not spending time with Emmi, I’m either getting inspired by the blog posts that I write and edit for Project Nursery, or I’m taking on a new DIY project around the house. If it allows me to be creative and makes our home just a little bit prettier, I’ll try it! I also love practicing yoga, and although sometimes it’s hard to find the time, spending an hour alone on my mat is one of my favorite places to be.
What’s your favorite timi & leslie diaper bag?
Hopefully the Kate bag! I’ve never had a timi & leslie diaper bag before, so I’m excited to try it! I love color, and the beautiful shade of teal is just the pop of color that my on-the-go summer style needs.
What are 5 things in your bag that are mommy must-haves?
A wet bag is perfect for cloth diaper changes, those unfortunate leaks and blowouts and especially messy play dates that necessitate an outfit change. Boogie wipes work for noses, faces, hands, you name it—don’t forget they work for mom too! A mini arts and crafts pouch with crayons, stickers and a notebook keeps little hands occupied during appointments, lunch dates and long car rides. Lip gloss makes mama feel just a little more put together than you might actually be. And sunglasses hide the remnants of late nights, early mornings and the mad dash to get out the door before you had a chance to put on mascara.
Who is your mom style inspiration?
Each one of my mama friends is an inspiration to me. I admire one of my friends for going through a particularly challenging road to pregnancy and motherhood without ever losing her positivity, radiant smile, perfect beachy waves and bohemian style. And I’m amazed at how another friend is able to manage a two-and-a-half year old and a six-week-old baby while still having a quick wit, the best highlights in town and an eye for style that is truly enviable.
What’s your top tip for staying fashionable when juggling little ones?
Wear what makes you feel your best, and accept that it might change from day to day. Be compassionate with yourself because being a mama can be so hard sometimes, so whether you’re most comfortable wearing leggings and a tee or skinny jeans and tall boots, make sure that what you put on in the morning helps to make you feel like the best version of yourself.
